The Knights Templar made great use of this Church. Many signs of the Knights Templar can be found cut into the masonry of the Church.
This Church is quite unique, for there can be found three ley –line maps, which were used to show the Templars the way to Jerusalem.
After their prayer and communion of the Lord’s Supper, they would anoint their swords by making a downward cut on the masonry, and on their return from the Crusade, they would make an horizontal cut in the stone completing the sign of the cross.
By doing this they would be signaling Christ’s victory with the sign of the cross.
His Power In You
Do you find it hard to keep yourself from falling into temptations, and eventually sin? You may think that it is impossible to walk in the paths of righteousness, when there seems to be so much temptation all around you.
Well, the Lord has many Bible readings to help you, and I am convinced that His power in you, can and will keep you until the time of His return.
I was praying to the Lord about all the temptations in this world, when He brought a very blessed scripture into my mind. He said, “And make straight paths for your feet, lest that which is lame be turned out of the way; but let it rather be healed,” Hebrews 12 v 13.
The meaning of this scripture to me was that I must make straight paths, for my life in this world, it was up to me to fellowship with God’s people and to listen to and look upon good things.
There are many distractions in this life, but we have been chosen by God, and He has shown us in His Holy Word how to live decently and acceptably in this perverse and adulterous world.
We must continually fill our minds with His word and sing and make melody in our hearts unto the Lord, and always keep in mind that if we do sin, we can come to Jesus knowing that He understands our weaknesses, and will forgive us our sins. If we confess and repent, yes, crying out, “Forgive me Lord, I have turned away from this darkness in my life and unto you I come.”
He will wash you, cleaner than the whitest snow, although you have fallen, He will again lift you up from out of the mud, and filth, setting you once again upon His solid rock, Praise God.
He remains faithful even if you don’t, we have heard good things from the Lord’s Word, “Therefore we ought to give the more earnest heed to the things which we have heard, lest at any time we shall let them slip,” Hebrews 2 v 1.
The Bible also speaks that we need to protect ourselves against the evil intentions of the devil which seeks to destroy us, because the battles that we fight are spiritual. Jesus says, “The enemy comes to kill, steal and destroy your lives,” therefore we must protect ourselves just like a knight in shining armour.
It is written in the book of Ephesians that we must put on the whole armour of God, the belt of truth, for God’s word is truth, the breastplate of righteousness, for we are the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus, shoes, ready to announce the good news to a hopeless world, but above all these things we need to take up the shield of faith, which is able to protect us against all the wicked things that come against us in this life.
Let us not forget the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, the helmet to protect our minds, knowing that we are saved, and the sword of the Spirit, to attack the strongholds of satan.
May we all seek to encourage one another as much as we can, so that together we will get through this life, and stand before our God clothed in robes of righteousness, and you will be able to do this through His power in you.
“Be filled with the Spirit; Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord.”
