Treasures in Heaven

Precious Jesus

Precious Jesus

Matthew 6 v 19-21 says, “Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal. For where your treasure is there will your heart be also.”

In this world everyone wants to get rich, and have more and more material possessions, bigger houses, faster cars, expensive holidays and just spend, spend, spend. Then they tell you that you need a life policy, you need a pension, you need to insure yourself against unemployment and you need big savings.

Philippians 4 v 19 says, “But my God shall supply all your needs according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.” God says don’t worry about this world because He will take care of you, He will look after you and supply all your needs.

Christian, you don’t belong to this world, you are a citizen of heaven, you are just passing through this earth on your way to heaven. So, don’t concern yourself with the cares of this world, just trust Jesus and He will take care of you.

The Bible says that we must lay up for ourselves treasures in heaven. We must be kind to people, say an encouraging word, help people, we must do this as unto Jesus.  Jesus would help people, be kind to them, and look after them, and we must be like Jesus.

And every time we work for the Lord, no matter how small the task, we are building up our treasures in heaven. Don’t worry about this world, but work for Jesus, and you will have treasures in heaven.

Matthew 6 v 25, 32& 33 says, “Therefore I say unto you, take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment.” “…..For your heavenly Father knoweth ye have need of all these things. But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and His righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.”

  1. I truly believe that everything that happens is planned by God, and that He uses these tough economic times to draw people back to Him. A few months ago He opened up to me the realization that I could live on the street and still be happy because I knew where I would spend eternity. When you know that, it’s easier to ignore the trials of this world.

  2. Praise Jesus, that you know you are saved.
